Top Tips for Beautiful Winter Skin

Central heating indoors and cold weather outdoors means dry skin on the face and hands, with tightness, redness, irritation, itchiness and sensitivity even for ‘normal’ skins, let alone sensitive skins and those with conditions like eczema which are prone to flare ups due to environmental conditions.

We’ve got 3 top tips for beautiful winter skin – and naturally, they’re all about water.

1. Hydrate – from the inside. Moisturisers, serums, toners and the like claim to boost hydration, plumpness and softness, but the most fundamental, beneficial thing you can do for your skin – and your health overall – is hydrate from the inside out by drinking plenty of water. And if you’re prone to break outs even with dry winter skin, good news – hydration boosts clarity, too. We know that RODI pure water is best – free from impurities like pesticides, petrochemicals, medications and metals – its pure, hydrating and supports your health.

2. Moderate water temperature. A long soak in a hot bath or standing under a steaming shower is bliss after being out in the cold, but really hot water is your enemy, not your friend – it breaks down the skin’s natural lipid barrier, resulting in dryer skin that’s more easily irritated. So don’t have the hottest bath you can bear, just one that’s soothingly warm. For handwashing in the kitchen, Quatreau – our multifunction kitchen tap – is a big help as it delivers the perfect water temperature right away (as well as instant Boiling, Sparkling and Chilled filtered and pure water) – thanks to it thermostatic control pre-set to the perfect temperature.

3. Invest in a softener. 60% percent of the UK’s population live in hard water areas. Softeners remove hard water impurities that create lime scale and scum and contribute to dry skin, leaving soft, hydrated skin, manageable hair, and the great news is it’s effective with eczema and psoriasis. Research suggests that contact with hard water can exacerbate eczema, either because you have to use more soap to get a lather, or because the scum particles of hard water itself (which stay on materials such as clothes and bed linen after laundry day) irritate the skin.

So, that’s 3 ways to combat dry, irritated skin this winter:

1: Hydrate with Pure Water  – we have 3 purifiers to suit your needs and budget, all with a monthly rental option.

2: Moderate water temperature – our Quatreau Tap helps in the kitchen by dispensing the perfect pre-set temperature for hand washing and rinsing.

3: Invest in a softener for calmer, softer skin, even if you suffer from eczema or psoriasis.

Designer Kitchen & Bathroom: Instant Appeal

“The hot water tap… is very much on the up”.

July’s Designer Kitchen and Bathroom magazine shines the spotlight on the boiling water tap, reporting that what was once ‘a luxury bolt-on in very high-end projects’, is now ‘a priority purchase for almost any kitchen’ – so we’re happy to see our very own Quatreau Tap featured throughout the magazine.

We say why settle for just boiling? There are a few boiling water taps on the market, but Quatreau delivers instant Boiling, Chilled, Sparkling and Hot / Cold water from an innovative touch-screen with built-in safety features.

As our M.D. Roger Wiltshire is quoted in the magazine: “we’re hearing from our customers that it’s no longer enough to have just a boiling water tap. Increasingly clients and specifiers demand more options including chilled and sparkling, which Quatreau offers as standard”.

We offer a modular approach to Quatreau with 4 options, because we want you to have exactly what you want and need:

  • Hydrocell 250: Filtered Boiling, Ambient, Mains Hot & Cold
  • Hydrocell 400: Filtered Chilled, Sparkling, Mains Hot & Cold
  • Hydrocell 450: Filtered Boiling, Chilled, Mains Hot & Cold
  • Hydrocell 500: Filtered Boiling, Chilled, Sparkling, Mains Hot & Cold

And for those with a specific look in mind, we offer Quatreau in brushed or stainless steel, but are also more than happy to accommodate bespoke finishes on request.

Why settle for tap water?
Quatreau dispenses filtered tap water, but you also have the option of Pure H2O RODI for the best tasting, purest water possible. Quatreau is designed to work seamlessly with our Pure H2O RODI purifiers, which fit under your kitchen sink, so you get convenience AND total purity!

We’re pleased to offer 15% off RRP of a Pure H2O RODI purifier system when purchased and installed with Quatreau.

We urge you to demand more than boiling – and insist on Quatreau. Learn more at quatreau.com or call us on 01483 617 000

Family Friendly Week: 20 – 27 October

‘Cook Together, Share Together, Laugh Together’ is the theme of this year’s Family Friendly Week, highlighting the importance of spending quality time together in the kitchen, whether cooking, baking, making drinks or sharing food.

We believe pure water is the foundation of good health and in our experience children often dislike tap water – which tastes of chlorine, and contains a myriad of chemical impurities – and we know many parents worry about keeping their children adequately hydrated. But the fresh, clean taste of our pure water is not only tolerable, but enjoyable, for children. We’re thrilled to receive emails from parents reporting in amazement that their children now drink pure water, thanks to the RODI purifier we installed in their kitchen.

Quatreau, our multifunction kitchen tap, is a great help when making food together in a busy family kitchen thanks to the touch screen choice of instant Boiling, Chilled, Sparkling and Hot & Cold water.  We’re really proud of its design and functionality and again we hear from parents that their children love making a game of using the Chilled and Sparkling functions to make drinks with their family members and friends, adding their own choice of slices of fruit or organic fruit cordials. If a delicious pie is on the menu for Family Friendly Week, why not ask your children to use the Quatreau tap to add sparkling water to the pastry – it makes it incredibly light!

Of course safety is paramount, so the Boiling function on the Quatreau tap requires a child-safe yet simple 3-step activation process and the outer wall of the tap remains cool to the touch, so whether you’re enjoying the company of one child or a whole after-school horde, you can relax!

Why not call us to discuss restoring the kitchen to the heart of your family’s home with RODI pure water and the Quatreau tap: 01483 617 000 and visit our website to find out more.
